Former US Senator and Presidential candidate John Edwards Indicted - June 3, 2011
A federal grand jury indicted former US Senator and twice-Presidential candidate John Edwards today on six felony charges, including one count of conpiracy, one count of making false statements and four counts of accepting illegal campaign contributions. Edwards made an initial appearance in the US District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina's Winston-Salem Division soon after the indictment was returned by the grand jury, and will be formally arraigned in July.
